Evan Manoha

Evan Manoha

Sport: Football

The performance: Manoha didn’t have the busiest first half running the ball last Thursday against Pahoa, but it wouldn’t be accurate to say he was taking it easy, because Manoha was still wrecking havoc on the defensive side at linebacker.

Manoha’s favorite past time is wrestling steer, but taking on tacklers is fast becoming a close second.

With the Trojans trailing entering the second half, Manoha exploded on offense. The senior started his stampede with a 72-yard touchdown run as he ran away from the Daggers’ defense, and he also ran through it, tacking on scoring runs of 12, 10, 6 and 1 yards. His fifth and final score with four seconds remaining gave Ka’u a 54-48 eighth-man BIIF victory and helped him surpass 300 yards rushing.

“Player of the game,” Ka’u coach DuWayne Ke said.

Better yet – player of the week.
